My Why
Hi there, I’m Mayla :)
As an artist I like to infuse magic into my work, capturing the essence of something rather than just how it looks. I’ve always been an animal lover and it has become a recent passion of mine to paint peoples pets in a way that conveys their individual being, not just their furry faces - though those are adorably important too.
This new love was unlocked about two years ago when i painted my childhood dog, Ronan, for my mom’s birthday. He was never just a pet to us, he was my mom’s service dog, but he was even more special than that. She called him her son and i called him my brother. He was family. By the time i painted him i was a junior in high school remembering the vital part of my earlier years that was Ronan, and because so much time had passed he had become nothing but a deeply loved memory. Instead of drawing just what he looked like in this picture, i drew upon the way he looked in my mind and felt in my heart and created something that really expressed who he was.
Now I look at this painting everyday and remember Ronan for everything he was to me, how beautiful his spirit was and continues to be.
I hope to give that feeling to everyone who’s fur family members I paint, whether those little loved ones are still with us or have passed on, they all deserve to be remembered for all of the joy and love they’ve brought us.

How it works
In order to create something unique and personal I first have you fill out a request form so I can get an idea of what you're imagining. From there I'll get in touch with you and we'll discuss your pet and possible other elements that you would like me to include in your portrait. Then, once we agree to work together, I take the initial 60% charge of the total cost and get right to work. The time it will take me to complete your piece should be any where between 1-3 weeks (Not including shipping).
My prices are based on the size of the paper you choose and the number of pets in your portrait, not the design details in the piece, so you can get however crazy you like with the extras and surroundings (as long as I'm able to fit it in the allotted space).

Because these projects take time and a lot of individual consideration and planning, I charge 60% of the total price at the time we decide to work together.
